Dr. Michael Delatte
A New Orleans native, “Dr. Mike” was raised in Atlanta, GA, and earned his undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina. He completed his optometric education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and received his Doctor of Optometry in 1992.

Shortly after graduation, Dr. Delatte moved to Seattle — the appeal of the outdoors in the Pacific Northwest captured his adventurous spirit.

He practiced there for five years and welcomed his two children. Alas, his wife became homesick (her family was rooted in the Northeast), so they relocated to New Jersey and settled down in a rural location to raise their family on a 23-acre farm, complete with horses, mini-donkeys, pygmy goats, dogs, cats, and his beloved chickens! (Which came running to greet him every morning).

He established his optometry practice in Bridgewater in 2002. He commuted daily to run his business, providing a holistic approach to treating and caring for his patients’ eyes for the past 21 years.

Dr. Delatte intended to relocate back West to reunite with the outdoors and its natural beauty once his children were grown. He met his current wife during the pandemic, and with his daughter and son now living and working in Manhattan, he, his wife, and their dog Riley happily agreed to bid adieu to the Northeast and build their new family and life as Coloradans.

He is excited to come on board with Altitude Optometry!
