LASIK Consultation

lasik animationThe primary objective of the LASIK consultation is to determine whether you are a candidate for laser vision correction, and if so, which procedure is most appropriate for you. Equally as important, we educate you about whether or not laser vision correction is right for you, and the benefits and risks associated with this type of surgery.

Dr. Mortenson has had extensive experience working with LASIK patients. She specialized in LASIK for four years in California and worked with some of the country’s top surgeons. During that time, she was able to work with thousands of LASIK patients and see what a difference it made in their lives!

Learning everything you can about your options is the key to making an informed decision. We will help you understand what results you can reasonably expect after the procedure given your particular prescription and circumstances. We co-manage LASIK with several reputable LASIK surgeons in the Boulder-Denver area. If you schedule a consultation, there is no obligation to move forward with the procedure.

laser imageIt is important for you to realize that even if it is determined that you are not a LASIK candidate today, it does not mean that you will not be a LASIK candidate in the future. The technology for laser vision correction is constantly being enhanced, enabling higher and more difficult prescriptions to be qualified. However, laser vision correction is not for everyone, and some patients (those with certain diseases of the eye involving the cornea and retina) will never be candidates. The best way for you to find out is by having a thorough examination with Dr. Mortenson at 720-565-0445.

The current situation with COVID-19 is changing on a daily basis. The CDC and the American Optometric Association have asked optometrists to postpone any routine eyecare visits for the next 2-3weeks. Due to this recommendation, we will be limiting our office hours to accommodate our patients who have emergencies and urgent eye care needs only. Our office plans to be open for two days/week for the next few weeks from 12-5pm and we hope to get back to our usual office hours as soon as possible. Currently, LensCrafters will be open from 12-6pm daily and will be available to help answer our calls and provide information as to which days we will be open as this is subject to change. If LensCrafters has to close for an extended period of time, we will have a cell phone number on our voicemail to reach our on-call doctor for emergencies.

Our priority during this uncharted time is the health and safety of our patients, staff and our community. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Thank you very much for your understanding,

The team at Altitude Optometry
