Eye Exam

Primary Eye Care includes a comprehensive vision and eye health examination. This examination is designed to detect a wide range of problems affecting vision function, such as blurred vision or eye discomfort. Many of our patients tell us that our eye examinations are the most thorough they have ever experienced!

Evaluations for eye health disorders are also performed. The American Optometric Association recommends that all people should have a periodic, comprehensive eye examination every one to two years depending on ones particular needs.

Altitude Optometry incorporates computerized technology to assist the evaluation of spectacle prescriptions, peripheral vision, intraocular pressure, and eye health. Computerized examination instruments are used to supplement rather than replace personalized care. Examinations include tests for glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and the ocular effects of many general health disorders such as diabetes and high blood pressure, as well as effects of medications. A dilated pupil examination allows us to provide the best assessment of eye health. It is recommended for all new patients and on a scheduled basis thereafter. Each patient receives a detailed summary of their eye exam showing any significant findings and treatment options.

The current situation with COVID-19 is changing on a daily basis. The CDC and the American Optometric Association have asked optometrists to postpone any routine eyecare visits for the next 2-3weeks. Due to this recommendation, we will be limiting our office hours to accommodate our patients who have emergencies and urgent eye care needs only. Our office plans to be open for two days/week for the next few weeks from 12-5pm and we hope to get back to our usual office hours as soon as possible. Currently, LensCrafters will be open from 12-6pm daily and will be available to help answer our calls and provide information as to which days we will be open as this is subject to change. If LensCrafters has to close for an extended period of time, we will have a cell phone number on our voicemail to reach our on-call doctor for emergencies.

Our priority during this uncharted time is the health and safety of our patients, staff and our community. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Thank you very much for your understanding,

The team at Altitude Optometry
